Scripture for today

Revelation 19:9 AMP

Then [the angel] said to me, Write this down: Blessed (happy, to be envied) are those who are summoned (invited, called) to the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he said to me [further], These are the true words (the genuine and exact declarations) of God.

I attended a wedding on Saturday and it was glamorous. I was so excited and I saw how happy every one was. It was so much fun, I could see the thrill and joy of finally getting married. All I kept thinking about how much joy it will be on the last day in the marriage in heaven. And I began to wonder how much we strive for marriage here on earth. We read all the books on how to grab a man and make him ours in seven days. We wonder how to get our woman to love us and cherish us forever. Well,  we never really think about how much our wedding to Jesus will be.  

If their is anything God really wants from us it is a relationship with him. A relationship that is based on pure unconditional love. During the wedding I looked at the white beautiful spotless dress and the thought of purity envisaged me. Jesus wants us pure, he wants to meet us pure. After, the wedding the dress had lots of spots but I was sure it was going to be dry cleaned soon. 

I learnt a lot of vital lessons. Our purity is not based on self righteousness or even perfection. It is based on the unconditional love of Jesus. Our relationship with Christ Jesus is to be worked on deliberately and habitually just like Enoch. Eternity should always be in our minds always. 

Prayer: Father, help me have eternity in view.
