Luke
5:31-32 Jesus heard about it and spoke up, "Who needs a doctor: the
healthy or the sick? I'm here inviting outsiders, not insiders—an
invitation to a changed life, changed inside and out." (Msg)
Why
do we keep up with the pretence? I have come to realize that a lot of
us as Christians pretend a lot. We come to Jesus like we don't need him,
that we have all our areas of weaknesses fixed up. We come to church
pretending like we are our own saviors so when others do wrong we
condemn them the most. The attitude of us hiding our weaknesses or
pretending that we do not need anything from God closes the door for
help to come our way. Why are we trying so hard to impress God when he
knows you don't have any power of your own to do anything for our self. I
dream of seeing a Church where even the ministers of the Gospel can
openly confess their sins and weaknesses. I remember struggling with a
whole lot of things because I felt I should be quiet about it. In the
house of God we need to help each other stand firm. We need to be
accountable to each other. That is the church Jesus died for.
Friends,
we all have our weaknesses and our inabilities. We have those times
when it seems like you are the only one with problems or weaknesses,
some people have been able to overcome the very same thing you are
struggling with. While others couldn't overcome. Bottom line of
everything am saying is that you shouldn't run away from God simply
because you have failed him. Don't have that attitude of feeling God
hates you for all the things you do wrong. Jesus came to the earth
specifically because he knows you just can't help yourself do right. 1
Corinthians 12:9 talked about Apostle Paul's own struggle with
weaknesses. He said he prayed about it and God told him he is made
strong even in his weakness. Friends, whatever you are going through,
or passing through take it up to God in prayers. You can't help yourself
so rely totally on him.
Prayer: Father, I commit my weakness into your hands and I ask that you give me strength in that area.
