Scripture for today

The Message 1 Thessalonians 4:15-18 And then this: We can tell you with complete confidence—we have the Master's word on it—that when the Master comes again to get us, those of us who are still alive will not get a jump on the dead and leave them behind. In actual fact, they'll be ahead of us. The Master himself will give the command. Archangel thunder! God's trumpet blast! He'll come down from heaven and the dead in Christ will rise—they'll go first. Then the rest of us who are still alive at the time will be caught up with them into the clouds to meet the Master. Oh, we'll be walking on air! And then there will be one huge family reunion with the Master. So reassure one another with these words.

I think one snare the devil uses against believers is that snare of making us pursue purpose so much that we forget to pursue eternity. Our home isn't here, we need to understand that our walk with God here on earth is temporary, we have a future and an expected end. Our earthly home is nothing compared to our heavenly home. God sacrificed his son so we can have our eternity secured so why should we be more entangled with our walk in purpose and forget that one day the trumpet will sound. Get me right am not saying walking in purpose is wrong but our relationship with God is more important. Holiness and purity should be your watchword. The coming of Jesus is nearer than we think it is.

Friends, one day if you are still alive you would hear the blast of trumpet, we will be caught up in the sky. The thing now is despite all our good works and all our walk with God will we be rapturable. I had to ask myself, will all these struggles here matter anymore? Very soon it won't matter, I  would be face to face with my creator. All I have done and the state my father finds me is what I  will be judged by. Your salvation is a per minute thing. Walk with God at all times and you won't fulfill the laws of the flesh.

Prayer: Father, help me remain rapturable.
