DO WE ALL HAVE SOUL MATES?
9:58 am
LOVE LETTERS|DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR SINGLES|DAY 316
Scripture for today
The Message Genesis 2:23-25 The Man said, "Finally! Bone of my bone, flesh of my flesh! Name her Woman for she was made from Man." Therefore a man leaves his father and mother and embraces his wife. They become one flesh. The two of them, the Man and his Wife, were naked, but they felt no shame.
I have heard a lot about the Greek mythology and it amazes me how we sometimes spend our entire singles lives searching for the ONE!! The thing is we feel there is just this one person God has created just for us. This makes us make a whole lot of mistakes in the choice of a life partners. We sometimes feel the one has to be that person just for you and even when we see red flags that we should ideally flee from we hang on believing it's this person or no one else.
According To Greek Mythology….
The first humans were created with four arms, four legs and four eyes… They had two noses and two mouths and they terrified Zeus… He believed they had eminent powers and feared there would come a day when one would take his place as Ruler. To prevent such an incident from ever occurring, Zeus split each human in half and left them to wander aimlessly around the mortal world searching for their other half.
The question to us here is WHO IS YOUR CREATOR? HOW WERE YOU CREATED? Listen Christian singles we can marry anyone today and tomorrow the person is dead or maybe we get divorced, what now happens? Does that mean you have no soul mate again? Soul mates don't exist for us, it's just a myth. The reality of marriage is written in our Scripture above.
Prayer: Father, help me not to be deceived by this myth.
