Scripture for today

James 1:17 

 Every desirable and beneficial gift comes out of heaven. The gifts are rivers of light cascading down from the Father of Light. (Msg)

I remember the story of the rich man in the Bible who said all he needed was to tear down his store house and just build new ones so he will never get to work again.(Luke 10:13-21). He had a lot of gifts and he felt he had made himself so rich he was so self full.

All the good things we have around us are from heaven above, the job, the car, the house, the marriage, the intellect etc. There is nothing you have you will say was given just because you worked hard enough or just was smart enough. It is by God blessing even the little things you do. It is God's blessings that made us come this far, never forget someone some where works harder than you are doing but they have not been able to achieve a bit of what you have achieved.

So why should we as singles boast so much about a blessing, we forget the blessing has a giver. There is a God who has given us our desirable gifts so why should we boast of the little he just handed down to us. What ever you have is for you to bless someone with not to be proud of or make others feel bad about it. 

Thank the Lord who has blessed you and bless others today!

Prayer: Father, may I never be boastful about the little you have given me.
