Scripture for today

Lamentations 3:22-24

God’s loyal love couldn’t have run out,
his merciful love couldn’t have dried up.
They’re created new every morning.
    How great your faithfulness!
I’m sticking with God (I say it over and over).
He’s all I’ve got left. (MSG)

Alexander III was Tsar of Russia from 1881-1894. His rule was marked by repression, and in particular by persecution of Jews. His wife, Maria Fedorovna, provided a stark contrast, being known for her generosity to those in need. On one occasion her husband had signed an order consigning a prisoner to life in exile. It read simply  “Pardon impossible, to be sent to Siberia.” Maria changed that prisoners life by moving the comma in her husband’s order. She altered it to “Pardon, impossible to be sent to Siberia.”

In Christ, God has changed the comma that stood against us. From “Pardon impossible, send to Siberia” comes the good news of salvation: “Pardon, impossible to send to Siberia.”

God's Love is fresh every morning. That's one of the reasons for this devotional its called LOVE LETTERS. You get his full love at the beginning of everyday. He gave us grace and pardon through his son and he gives us the opportunity to restart again on a fresh day. Just like the woman who moved the comma in her husbands letter, he moved us from darkness into light.

God has given us new mercies every morning, fresh grace everyday and abundant of love to start over. It hurts when we still dwell on the deeds of yesterday, the mistakes and even the heartaches. We need to move on from there, we have all it takes to move on.

Just hold on to God he is all you have left.

Prayer: Father, help me to realize the depth of your love for me.
