Scripture for today

Esther 10:3 AMP

For Mordecai the Jew was next to King Ahasuerus and great among the Jews, and was a favorite with the multitude of his brethren, for he sought the welfare of his people and spoke peace to his whole race.

We all want to be successful, you know, we all want to be great in life and most times we confuse our place of purpose with being popular. Do you know  if we want to be in the place of honor as Christians we should learn to sacrifice ourselves? Mordecai and Esther got to the high place of honor because they learnt to sacrifice themselves for their people. We need to be unselfish in our place of service putting others before us has great power to set us out in our world. 

In your place of service to humanity don't seek yourself, seek the good of others then you will find yourself. The truth is with great success comes great sacrifice, not just sacrificing our time, but sometimes our money and intellect. You know, these days most parents are breeding children who are super selfish. Children who ask the question "what's in it for me?" even before they lift a finger to serve. 

In our path to pursue God's purpose for our lives, we should learn to obey him in all he directs us to do. Imagine if Esther had decided that her being a queen was all God wanted her to become and never help her people in their trying times. People let's put ourselves up for God so he can use us mightily and miraculously. 

Prayer: Father, help me sacrifice myself totally for your work.
