LOVE LETTERS|DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR SINGLES|DAY 87

Scripture for today

Mark 6:46-47. 46 And after he had taken leave of them, he went up on the mountain to pray. 47 And when evening came, the boat was out on the sea, and he was alone on the land. (ESV) 

I remember at a point in my final year in the university. I felt so lonely, I felt I didn't have friends because I almost didn't have anyone to talk to about my weaknesses, struggles and problems which were gradually beginning to overwhelm me. As a fellowship leader I had a lot of people come to me in their low times. I knew a lot of people look up to me, I just didn't know if I was ready to let anyone know my struggles. In that moment I rested so much on the Holyspirit for strength. I learnt to submit to his leadership because he was actually all that I have. I learnt to pray, worship and study through it all. So many times I still feel lonely but I believe its a good thing.

Most times Jesus had to have some lonely times. He used them for prayers to receive strength and power for the ministry. A moment of solitude is very important because God needs us out of people, he needs us away from all the noise and distractions so he would deal with us personally. 

As a Christian who is walking with the Lord sometimes you feel so lonely. You feel you have no one to look up to but God is always in charge of the situation. He is dealing with you alone, he separates you to make you better. For you to become a life changing Christian sometimes you will experience loneliness.  This form of loneliness is good because we certainly come back better. We need to keep praying to God to bring key people into our lives so we would have people who understand our call and also understand that we are not perfect. 

Prayer: Father, help me get the best out of this lonely times.
