Scripture for today

Matthew 5:4 “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. (ESV)

In life there is time for everything. There is a time to say welcome and there is a time to say good bye. I know a lot of us love the welcomes but hate goodbyes. Myself I dread goodbyes I could just get so emotional and cry. The goodbyes are times when we mourn the most because letting go is never easy. 

In Matthew 5:4 Jesus said we are blessed when we mourn and I am beginning to understand the blessedness is mourning or goodbyes. When we mourn the loss of a person or a thing that is so dear to us we usually have no other person to hold on to but God. In these situations of sorrow we find God so evident through our pains he gives us comfort.

The comfort of God which is given to us by the Holy Spirit, is so awesome it is almost unbelievable how he helps us walk through pains. His comfort is beyond any form of ordinary comfort. I write the post in our time of mourning. We lost someone so dear to us who we have fought the good fight with. Finally she has gone to be with the Father, who has taken her home to be with him. God is our only source of comfort, we hate goodbyes. All we need is to wait in His presence thanking him while he works in our heart and emotions. He will never fail us.

I am joining faith with every member of my family to remind us that Jesus never fails. I join faith with as many people who are hurting right now, he never fails. He will keep comforting us.

Prayer: Father, we trust for comfort in our pains.
