Scripture for today

Acts 2:4 AMPC

And they were all filled (diffused throughout their souls) with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other (different, foreign) languages (tongues), as the Spirit kept giving them clear and loud expression [in each tongue in appropriate words].

So many times in my Christian walk I must say, I have believed lies about tongues. The first lie was it wasn't necessary for me to speak in tongues. I was told it wasn't necessary because all I truly needed was the presence of God to go with me. I remember even saying that tongues is a gift and doesn't necessarily have to be mine. Now I know better! Now I speak in tongues and I must say it is a necessity for every believe. It's an evidence of the in filling of the Holy spirit, it is a manifestation. The lie I have believed is also a lie that some of us are hanging onto. That lie is of the devil and he can go extra miles to prove he is right. Some will say, Jesus didn't speak in tongues but we have forgotten what he told us..

 Mark 16:17 AMPC And these attesting signs will accompany those who believe: in My name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new languages;

Another lie I believed was that my tongues could be from a demonic power. I received the baptism of the Holy spirit on my kneels during my quiet time. I got talking about it to a friend who told me I should be careful it could be of the devil. For a year, I prayed for my tongue to cease if it was of the devil. Now I wonder, how can demons fill you with something that will work against them. Yes, there are counterfeits but I still believe you can't ask God for bread and he gives you stone.. 

Another news, Dubby is a year older today, all I can say is God bless him abundantly and may he live to see his great grandchildren. I wish him more blessings and favor. For every seed you have sown may you reap the fruits of your labour. 

Prayer: Father, help me not to believe every lie of the enemy.
