HONESTY

Scripture for today
Job 1:8 God said to Satan, "Have you noticed my friend Job? There's no one quite like him—honest and true to his word, totally devoted to God and hating evil."
As a child I remember one of my uncles who comes home to visit every weekend. He made me look up to Sundays, as a child my favorite day happens to be Sunday because I knew uncle Remmy was coming. He never failed to come every Sunday no matter how tight his schedule was, I and my siblings celebrate his coming home like the coming of a king. He was our favorite uncle, do you know why? He always was bringing the exact things he promised to get us every Sunday. He would get us pencils if he said he was going to get us pencils, he got us toys if he said he was going to get us toys. He kept to every promise he made and he never failed to do the things he said he was going to do. He earned our respect and admiration, he couldn't do any evil as far as we are concerned.
God was proud of Job because Job's character was tested and tried and it still had not changed. God knew that Job was true to his word and totally honest. Honesty is a fast fading attribute in our generation, we believe that being honest or upright makes us venerable.
As singles, we need to be honest and true to our words and promises. Life would have been better if our NO really mean NO and our YES is just YES. Sometimes we allow ourselves to be pressured into making promises that we cannot fulfill, we shouldn't put ourselves into such positions to make promises we know we cannot keep.
Learning to be truthful at all times will make people more dependent on us. Honesty helps strengthen our relationships with other people. It is a very important virtue we need in our every day lives.
Make a decision to be truthful and honest today.
Prayer: Just like Job, Father refine my character.
Are you blessed? Bless someone by sharing.
