Scripture for today

The Message Ephesians 5:1-2 Watch what God does, and then you do it, like children who learn proper behavior from their parents. Mostly what God does is love you. Keep company with him and learn a life of love. Observe how Christ loved us. His love was not cautious but extravagant. He didn't love in order to get something from us but to give everything of himself to us. Love like that.

Love isn't just a feeling. If it was just a feeling we have once cupid strick then we are all not safe. For some of us who might be wondering what cupid is:

In classical mythology, Cupid (Latin Cupido, meaning "desire") is the
god of desire, erotic love, attraction and affection. He is often portrayed as the son of the love goddess Venus and the war god Mars, and is known in Latin also as Amor ("Love"). His Greek counterpart is Eros.

So cupid seem to be the determiner of who we are to be drawn to at anytime. This life is useless if we are left in the hand of an arrow to be struck at us before we love. Cupid is a myth, so many of us have been waiting all our lives for cupid to strike us but he seems to be on vacation. 

I have tried severally to understand why we have 4 kinds of love. As a believer in Christ and as a person who has studied the acts of relationships in the light of Scriptures I can say firmly that there is only one kind of love. Though so many people may disagree with this but you know I speak the truth. Our God is love all by himself if we love him we will be able to love truly even the worst people in our lives who hurt us. God's kind of love is all about action, it's not just a feeling. I will know when someone truly love me by the very things they do. Don't start thinking far and wide, lol. It's simple just study 1 corinthians 13:3-10. Love is never just a feeling it's about the acts. It is born out of a determined heart to never give despite the weaknesses of people around you. You love unconditionally and totally once you understand the unconditional love of God. 

Prayer: Father, help me love people around me unconditionally.
