Scripture for today

2 Samuel 6:20 AMPC

Then David returned to bless his household. And [his wife] Michal daughter of Saul came out to meet David and said, How glorious was the king of Israel today, who stripped himself of his kingly robes and uncovered himself in the eyes of his servants' maids as one of the worthless fellows shamelessly uncovers himself!

David could shamelessly worship his creator at anywhere, in any form or in every way possible but he had a wife you didn't understand his God and how he is so crazy about God. When I studied this particular Scripture I had to burst into prayers asking God to lead my choice once again that I wouldn't marry someone who doesn't know how crazy I could get about him. I think it's a good prayer for every single person who reads this. If you have a close relationship with your father and you know how crazy you could get when following his commands then please don't go for someone who isn't aware of your relationship. Don't go for someone who can't stand you giving your last money into church project. Someone who does not understand you could give your last food to a beggar.  Someone who doesn't understand your vision and purpose will certainly criticize any move you make to walk with God. 

David loved Michal but she didn't love his God enough to love David appropriately. God has given us the power to make choices but we have to consider who we are making this choice with. Your love for God needs to stand out and above the love for your spouse. 

Prayer: Father, help me never to love my spouse better than you.
