Scripture for today

Zechariah 3:2 

The LORD said to Satan, "The LORD rebuke you, Satan! The LORD, who has chosen Jerusalem, rebuke you! Is not this man a burning stick snatched from the fire?" (NIV)

 It's tougher to fall into temptation when you are in total sync with God. I mean it will take a serious temptation to snatch you away from God. When we fall into temptations or even backslide most times is as a result of us being snatched out of fire.  

Take a look at this illustration : 

I live in a small, rural community. There are lots of cattle ranches around here, and, every once in a while, a cow wanders off and gets lost … Ask a rancher how a cow gets lost, and chances are he will reply, "Well, the cow starts nibbling on a tuft of green grass, and when it finishes, it looks ahead to the next tuft of green grass and starts nibbling on that one, and then it nibbles on a tuft of

That's just the perfect illustration about how we get lost as believers. Different things begin to get our attention. We begin to forfeit our fellowship with God for other things. We begin to see reasons why we should miss church, we begin to forfeit our times with God for social media. We experience dryness most times when we focus on our work for God than our walk with him. 

Let's not forfeit our relationship with God for our work for him. 

Prayer: Father, help me pursue my relationship with you more than any other thing.
