Scripture for Today

Ephesians 5:25-27 AMP

Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her, So that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the Word, That He might present the church to Himself in glorious splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such things [that she might be holy and faultless].

So yesterday we talked about  how we the Proverbs 31 women search for the Ephesians 5 man and one of his qualities is that he is selfless. If you missed the post click here. The Ephesians 5 man has yet another quality which is the desire for purity. Purity in heart and body seem to be an over looked topic in the phase of singleness. Some of us feel we are at liberty to do just anything we want to do with our bodies simply because we live in a season of grace. Dear man, are you defrauding your sisters in the Lord in the name of relationship? Sisters, your purity and chastity being preserved should be the desire of your man. The Ephesians 5 man should be after presenting you to your creator with a refined and purified character.

I have seen people who tell me its not easy to remain chaste and pure both in heart and body and I ask “what effort have you made?” so many times we don't fight the good fight rather we wait for the enemy to strick and we usually make no efforts. Our hearts are to be guarded with all diligence, we shouldn't allow lust build a kingdom in our hearts but rather fight it out.

Dear Ephesians 5 man, keep your Proverbs 31 woman pure, chaste and holy. Don't defraud her of her gifts, help her build character, help her harness her gifts which God has put into her life. Above all, point her always to Jesus.

Prayer: Father, help us present ourselves holy and pure for you.
