Scripture for today

Mark 4:3-4, 15 AMP

Give attention to this! Behold, a sower went out to sow. And as he was sowing, some seed fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. 

15 The ones along the path are those who have the Word sown [in their hearts], but when they hear, Satan comes at once and [by force] takes away the message which is sown in them.

Do you know who your greatest enemy is?  I laugh anytime I hear people say things like "so and so person is responsible for your problems in life".  In life as believers, we have one general enemy which is the devil but he never comes out as the devil. You know in the parable above Jesus said Birds come along and in the interpretation the devil is mentioned. Dear friends, there is only one person who will want to steal from you, destroy your joy,  rob you of your peace and still point hands at others that's the Devil. 

You know friends, I keep sharing here that the devil is our greatest enemy who doesn't want to be known. He takes things away from us by force making us loose great things God has given to us. The Word mentioned above is Jesus (John 1:1), many situations in life steal the presence of Jesus in our lives. It could be afflictions, persecutions, or even disappointment. They work very hard to steal Jesus in our lives. They truly want us to live as carnal people who are helpless. 

Jesus is saying here that we should understand that we have an enemy who fights with everything within him to make sure we don't carry God's presence. He fights us with doubt, faithlessness and false hope. Friends, John 10:10 tells us the enemy comes to steal, kill and destroy. 

Prayer: Father, may I be alert so the devil doesn't steal me away from your presence.
