Scripture for Today

Proverbs: 14. 10. The heart knoweth his own bitterness; and a stranger doth not intermeddle with his joy. - KJV 

You know what you are bitter about, you know those things you hold on so tight to and have decided not to let go. Bitterness usually springs up from unforgiveness of people's wrongs. You know, so many times I have had reasons to be bitter and harbour unforgiveness against people. I never really knew I could be unforgiving until I had people lie against me while knowing the truth. You know it was tough for me, when I see them I just get angry. I loose my peace and begin to think about their hurt and hatred towards me, literally my heart beat quickens and I begin sweat on my palm. That was unhealthy, "I thought I had forgiven, Lord!!!" I would cry out but I still knew I really wish bad things could happen to them to make them pay for all the wrongs they have done. I don't know if the same thing has happened to you before. Unforgiveness takes a  lot from us, forgiving people is divine that's why our flesh can't do it. 

I must confess I had to pray for God to help me forgive these people, and so many times I called out their names and proclaimed "I forgive you". Have you ever wondered why it is tough to forgive? Being free from unforgiveness gives you faith in God. You know great power comes from God above, which streams from love. And unforgiveness is not a product of love. Romans 12:19 says Vengeance is the Lord's. When people hurt us which is really expected we get over it by remembering that all that they do to you is unto God. You know we could look at it this way, God is faithful to keep us, what ever happens to us he is aware. You're the Apple of God's eyes anyone who hurts you or does well to you is doing it unto God. So do yourself a favor, Forgive. Let go of the pain, the hurt, the betrayal or even the bad relationship. You gave someone your heart and they scattered you, forgive them and move on dear, God is faithful he will handle it. 

Prayer: Father, I pray for the grace to forgive with the whole of my heart.
