Scripture for today

Genesis 39:7-9

[7] And it came to pass after these things, that his master's wife cast her eyes upon Joseph; and she said, Lie with me. [8] But he refused, and said unto his master's wife, Behold, my master wotteth not what is with me in the house, and he hath committed all that he hath to my hand; [9] There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God? (kjv) 

I am excited to once more talk about how much strength we have over our flesh. 

Sexual Sin is one that who ever partakes of receives the reward in his flesh. As Christians, we have been given power over principalities and powers; sexual sins inclusive. 

Until we come to terms that our body is not ours, but God's we won't go far in exercising power over Sexual Sin. Joseph in our text today, clearly states that he couldn't picture himself committing such an evil with his temple against God. Joseph wasn't in the era of grace and he knew too well that God was a consuming fire as much as a mercy God. I pray that we do not take grace for granted as Apostle Paul says in Romans 6:1 "... shall we continue in Sin that grace may abound?" We all know the response to that. 

1 Corinthians 3: 16 says "Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?" This should stir your spirit up excitedly. 

Basic ways to exercise your Power over sexual Sin 

1. Recognise your body is God's and not yours. 

2. Avoid unnecessary close proximity with an opposite sex, you are attracted to. 

3. Watch what information you expose your eyes and your ears to. These are the basic inlets of information into your body. 

4. Be a lover of God and make it a duty to be in his presence fellowshipping with the Holy spirit at all times. Remember He is omnipresent; you don't have to wait till you get to church the next Sunday to be in His presence.  

Prayer: Father, I come to you just as I am.  Strengthen my weaknesses.
