Jeremiah 29:11 I know what I'm doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for. (Msg)

Would you consider abortion in the following situations?

1. There’s a preacher and wife who are very, very, poor. They already have 14 kids. Now she finds out she’s pregnant with her 15th. They’re living in tremendous poverty.

2. The father is sick, the mother has TB. They have 4 children. The first is blind, second is dead, third is deaf, fourth has TB. She finds she’s pregnant again.

3. A white man raped a 13 year old black girl and she got pregnant.

4. A teenage girl is pregnant. She’s not married. Her fiancé is not the father of the baby, and he’s very upset.

If you chose to terminate, in the first case, you have terminated John Wesley, one of the great evangelists in the 19th century. In the second case, you have terminated Beethoven. In the third case, you have terminated Ethel Waters, the great black gospel singer. In the fourth case you have terminated Jesus.

In our world we are full of carnal wisdom and plan. We believe our plans shouldn't be distorted no matter how it comes. We try to figure out how everything should go and once its not going our way, then it just has to be stopped. Life's most traumatic disasters most times lead to a life changing experience. I shared the illustrations above to let us know that God is aware of every bad or not so sweet thing going on in our lives. He has told us he knows the plan he has towards us. We shouldn't take a decision just for the momentary relief but for eternal benefit.

Prayer: Father, forgive me in ways I have made decisions out of my own selfish desires. Help me understand that your plan is always better than mine.
