Scripture for Today

Romans 4:17 as it is written, “I have made you the father of many nations”—in the presence of the God in whom he believed, who gives life to the dead and calls into existence the things that do not exist. (ESV)

When I got into the university I had so many fears, I wasn't sure what my grades were going to be but I was so afraid and I worried a lot. I was filled with "what if". I would question every little sign of my fears and just  get so worried. One of my greatest fears was having a carry over. I dreaded it so much, I would keep talking about it. I was just being negative. Those negativity were built upon other peoples experience which were actually not palatable. 

Friends, I got what I dreaded most in the most frustrating way. I had lots of missing scripts which were never found and I had to sit all over again for so many papers. God has given us the courage to overcome the "what ifs". We ask a lot of these questions in our lives. 

What if I never get a job? 

What if I never get married? 

What if I never graduate?

What if I fail? Etc

We have such questions plaguing us all the time making us have no peace. Our mouths are just declaring disaster ahead of time. The devil wants us to be critical at every point in our lives making us sow negative seeds. What goes on in our mind is what we have eventually. Our mind is the battle field. It is the target of the enemy he wants to fill it with so much doubt we don't trust God anymore. He wants us to doubt the very power of God. 

Prayer: Father, may I get rid of the "what ifs" in my life. I call into existence every good thing I expect to happen.
