Scripture for Today

Philippians 1:9 And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, (ESV)

Yesterday we talked about how our love is everything and today we are talking about our love abounding more and more according to knowledge. The more we know God, the deeper we love him, right? Sometimes it just not that for so many believers. At a point in our walk of faith some of us begin to get so used to God or his ways that we begin to decrease in our knowledge of him. Our knowledge of God and how much we love him affects the way we treat other people and show love.

Our depth of knowledge of God and his ways ultimately affects the way we do things and love our neighbours or even forgive those that hurt us. God is love therefore to love truly we must be willing to understand what his will is concerning loving others. God's love those not discriminate or even envy neither does it rejoice in evil. Gods love is abounding in grace and mercy. 

God has called us to a life of love, towards people who certainly don't deserve love. He has called us to get deeper in our love for him,therefore we grow in our love for others. Love is the greatest gift to us therefore we should love just as God does.

Prayer: Father, help me grow in my love for you.
