Scripture for today

John 12:24-25 (NIV) Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds. 25Anyone who loves their life will lose it, while anyone who hates their life in this world will keep it for eternal life.

Sometimes you need a BIG CHOP in life. I took care of my hair for over 8 months though it was relaxed. I was gaining the length I wanted, the volume was also getting to just where I wanted it.

 Somehow I just began to desire more. I wanted to go natural. I knew it could be better, I just wanted a new foundation, I desired a fresh start. One day, I did the unthinkable. I can't even imagine I was letting go of something I had nurtured for 8 months. I was letting go of all the great accomplishments. I took a sharp scissors and chopped off my hair. It was one of the most dreaded moments in my life. I couldn't even imagine how I was going to look tomorrow but I knew I was making a big and good  decision. 

My big chop was one of the best decisions I have made and I am loving my healthy 4c hair all the way. I am relating this to our journeys in life. Don't be too afraid to let go of somethings. If you desire a great and new relationship never be afraid to let go of the one you feel you don't deserve anymore. Some relationships need to die. Some friendships need to die for you to become a better person. You need to let go of your evil ways for you to embrace the fullness of Christ. You need to let go of yourself so you can get eternal life.

AFTER ONE YEAR

Chop off those things that make you feel less. Chop off those relationships that make you move far away from God. Let it go Friends. 

Prayer: Father, give me your grace to let go of things you want me to discard.
