Scripture for today

Hebrews 11:4 AMP

[Prompted, actuated] by faith Abel brought God a better and more acceptable sacrifice than Cain, because of which it was testified of him that he was righteous [that he was upright and in right standing with God], and God bore witness by accepting and acknowledging his gifts. And though he died, yet [through the incident] he is still speaking. [Gen. 4:3-10.]

What can you give to God?  What is greatest gift you have that you can't just share with anybody? What is your most valuable possession which without it you can do nothing? I asked all these series of questions so you will have a mind check. You know those things that seem impossible for you to give or sacrifice. Even though you value God and you claim to put him first there are just somethings you can't let him have. 

Abel gave his best to God and that gave him the status 'righteous'. There are somethings that we would not have until we learn to live a life of sacrifice.  When you give unto God your best you will get the best.  Abel gave his best and got the best.  There is a great power in sacrifice, doors unlimited opens and you are set right.  

Sacrifice is so powerful because it can change a situation that was hopeless and looked like help is coming from nowhere.  When Solomon sacrificed on the altar after he built the temple the presence of the Lord filled the place. 2 Chronicles 7:5-12 Do you know that same night God appeared to him?. What really can you give to God to call down his glory and mighty power upon your life?

Prayer: Father, may I truly be filled with the grace to sacrifice.
