Scripture for today

2 Samuel 11:11 AMPC

Uriah said to David, The ark and Israel and Judah live in tents, and my lord Joab and the servants of my lord are camping in the open field. Shall I then go to my house to eat and drink and lie with my wife? As you live and as my soul lives, I will not do this thing.

 David had a loyal friend,  this friend's name was Uriah.  He had a pretty wife who was pregnant for David.  I think David is a very wicked man, how could he do such wicked thing to a loyal friend?  As singles, we need to understand that sex makes us loose loyal friends and family sometimes. The fact that we want to cover up our sins makes us want to go the extra mile. Uriah was loyal, he would never do anything to hurt David but here was David plotting how he would kill Uriah just to cover up his sin. David felt that was going to be a very perfect way out of his wrong. We all know it wasn't the easy way out after all.

Sin always lead to more sins when we try to cover it up. There is no one who cannot fall but the most important thing is that we rise up again. We should try hard to desist from covering up our wrongs.  Let's confess to God and make the necessary changes we need to make.  God is a good God of mercy and compassion.  He hates your sin but he doesn't hate you.  He loves you just the way you are. David tried to cover up but it didn't work, don't try everything within your power to cover up. God loves you, he died for your sins. He died openly for you, open up yourself to him.

Prayer:Father,  help me open up and confess my sins when I go wrong.
