Scripture for today

Mark 8:29, 32-33 ASV

29 And he asked them, But who say ye that I am? Peter answereth and saith unto him, Thou art the Christ. 

32-33 And he spake the saying openly. And Peter took him, and began to rebuke him. But he turning about, and seeing his disciples, rebuked Peter, and saith, Get thee behind me, Satan; for thou mindest not the things of God, but the things of men.

Last night I woke up feeling so discouraged in fact I put up a blog post about it. It was a post of me seeking for you guys my dear readers and friends to pray for me because I was feeling discouraged on my journey. In as much as seeking for prayers wasn't totally wrong I realized my motives weren't right so I took down the post. You know I was beginning to feel like I needed more people who will encourage me when in fact I had a lot of people who really cared and consistently encouraged me. I felt I was ungrateful because I don't need the whole world when I have the Holy Spirit. He is my ultimate encourager so I had to repent. 

This morning's love letter goes on to emphasis that the more we search for people the more flaws and imperfections we will find. The inner witness of the Holy Spirit is by far stronger than a million people's words of encouragement and acknowledgement. Looking from our scripture above we will realize how unstable man is and how we can be easily influenced to do some things which are not consistent Andh our character. Peter was the same one who just said the Truth about Christ and a few moments later was rebuking him for saying what was going to happen. Jesus being  filled with the Spirit immediately rebuked him. Peter was displaying the truth about the human attributes.
