Scripture for today

Acts 13:22 AMP

And when He had deposed him, He raised up David to be their king; of him He bore witness and said, I have found David son of Jesse a man after My own heart, who will do all My will and carry out My program fully. [I Sam. 13:14; Ps. 89:20; Isa. 44:28.]

Some people ask what is really special about you? They wonder what makes you so different that it seems God is just blessing you more than themselves. The same thing happened to David. What was different about David that made him to be chosen over Saul? What set him apart so greatly in the sight of God he called him A MAN AFTER MY HEART? David was just a man who had a different heart.  David was a young Shepherd boy who had a heart that was so large about the things of God. 

David had been anointed King a long time ago, he didn't bother to blow his trumpet to the king Saul.  He rather waited patiently for God to announce him. He wasn't eager to jump on and start ruling Israel he rather waited in the time of making. Do you know, right after he was anointed king he was in the palace playing the Harp for Saul.  I could just imagine if you were anointed to be President and get an opportunity to work in the sit of power,  wouldn't you see it as a fulfilment of Prophecy. (1 Samuel 16:17-19). For David it was just service, even when Saul was cruel to him he just had a different heart.  

After he killed Goliath will have been a good time to become king too but he rather waited.  He knew deep down in his heart that God was in control of everything so he trusted him.  He had seen God work for him too many times in the bush with his father's flock and He knew God will certainly work marvelously for him now. 

  Prayer: Father, create in me the right heart.
