A SHELTER IN THE STORM

Scripture for today

Mark 4:37- 40 (KJV)

[37] And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. [38] And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? [39] And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. [40] And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?

I have been on a boat before and I must confess it is frightening when the current of the water begins to increase and there's a tossing of the boat. It isn't an experience one would love to encounter often. But  on this faithful evening Jesus's people were in a boat that was been drowned by water - But He was there at peace in a corner!

Wow! So we often think Jesus our Saviour has left us all to ourselves,  when we meet precarious situations right. Fortunately He is there; giving us an opportunity to exercise our convictions our Faith; our authority that he has given  us.

But many a times we are quick to remember how we failed the last time and how we prayed for a loved one who was sick and eventually the person died or how we were serving in His presence always and yet still lost our Job in a random staff-cut. How we were cheated on by a partner whom you looked up to and how there isn't any reason in the world that would make you trust again.

I have come to assure you that Jesus was there when you went through all that and now you are at a cross road He is asking you not to be of little faith; be certain His covering is over your life - you have got to declare Victory now to experience it.

I love this scripture "... lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen" (Matt. 28:20b)

He is your shelter, always with you in every storm; take charge and exercise your faith conquering all.

Prayer: Father, thank you for being with me always.
