Scripture for Today

Ephesians 6:12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. (ESV)

A number of years back the codfish industry on the northeast coast of the US had a problem. The fresher the fish the better. So how could they keep the codfish fresh while they transported them across the country? When they froze the fish they lost too much flavour. When they transported them live in tanks filled with saltwater the fish got soft and mushy.

Finally they found a solution. They placed catfish in the tanks. Catfish are a natural enemy of codfish, so the catfish would chase them around the tanks all the time they were being transported. The cod now arrived in better condition than ever.

Just like the catfish is a natural enemy of the codfish that's the same way our enemy the devil is to a believer. Have you ever wondered why you have lots of battles to fight? You win one today, tomorrow you have another one to face. The weapon of our warfare is beyond words, our weapon is never carnal because our enemies are not carnal either. The enemy is working hard to see us succumb in defeat that's why we should get up every morning to rebuke the Devil over our lives. 

You see people doing lots of things to wrong you, they try so hard to steal your joy. Its not them its the devil. No human flesh and blood is your enemy, you know who the real enemy is. He is always at work he doesn't have a break that's why we as believers shouldn't have a break either!

Prayer: Father, I receive victory over every work of the devil in my life. I am victorious!
